Our story

This is a story about a highly accomplished carpenter. His story began in late 19th century in a small town just south of Colombo. David Simon Salgadu was born in 1899 in Moratuwa, Srilanka,  This small town is well known for wood working and David’s father was a skilled carpenter.  Young David has demonstrated early signs of carpentry skills and that has encouraged him to continue his family tradition.  

In his late 20s he met Nimalawathi, the love of his life and they have decided to call home to a beautiful village named Hela-Kadurugamuwa.  David was able to build a successful carpentry business and they were blessed by four daughters and eight sons.
